July

It has been a crazy July! The month started in Santa Barbara for the 4th of July holiday. My relatives came into town and we had an incredible weekend at a beautiful house over looking all of SB. This was the first year I did not lifeguard in Del Mar for the fourth. It was very strange to not be working from 8-6 on the beach, making rescues all day. I found out what everyone else does for the holiday (BBQs, fireworks, relaxing on the beach) it was very nice! This was a great start to a great month. I played in five tournaments since then. I have been to beaches every week up and down the coast for v ball… Manhattan, Hermosa, Santa Monica, Malibu, Laguna and Santa Barbara. On the days I am not traveling or playing in tournaments, I have been training my clients and teaching yoga. I love having clients who enjoy working hard and want to be pushed to a new limit. I have convinced a few of my clients that organic and local food is a great choice when deciding meals for the week.

This week I am heading down to San Diego for a sponsorship meeting and I will lifeguard and scuba dive while I am down there. After SD, I will head up to Manhattan beach for the six man beach vball tourney. This is going to be a very fun and competitive tournament. This tournament is the only one that is a combination of a party and serious volleyball. Everyone dresses up in costumes and has a great time, but everyone wants to win. The people and costumes are a wide range. Some of the guys from the Lakers are on the team who wears Laker jerseys and afros. It should be a great week!

The excitement continues the following weekend when I head back to my home town South Lake Tahoe for the weekend!
